Transparency and Stewardship | Dalo Acres Animal Sanctuary 501(c)(3)

Trust and Accountability

Quick answer: Dalo Acres is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal sanctuary. We treat every donation, sponsorship, supply gift, volunteer hour, and business partnership as a responsibility to use support carefully and keep the mission understandable.

What donations support

  • Feed, hay, bedding, and water
  • Shelter, fencing, repairs, and safe spaces
  • Animal care supplies and wellness needs
  • Youth mentorship and responsible service
  • The most practical current sanctuary priority

How giving works

  • General gifts provide the most flexibility
  • Monthly gifts make recurring care more predictable
  • Animal sponsorships connect support to a story
  • Approved in-kind gifts should match current needs
  • Donation receipts are provided through the giving process

Our standard for stewardship

We do not measure responsible stewardship by fancy language. We measure it by whether animals are cared for, routines stay safe, needs are met, and supporters can understand where their help fits.

Current needs change. That is why the Current Needs page is the best place to see the categories that matter now, while unrestricted donations give Dalo Acres room to respond where support is most useful.

Tax note: Keep your receipt for your records. The tax treatment of any gift depends on individual circumstances, so consult a qualified tax professional when needed.

Questions supporters should ask

Can I give monthly?

Yes. The secure donation form offers both one-time and monthly giving.

Can I choose an animal to sponsor?

Yes. Visit the animal sponsorship collection to support Pancho, the chickens, Lefty's memorial, or the whole sanctuary.

Should I bring supplies without asking?

No. Please review the wishlist and ask before bringing items.

Give with a clear conscience.

Choose a one-time or monthly gift, or review the current needs before deciding how you want to help.
